Glastonbury Abbey to host ‘The Story of the Reformation’ conference
Glastonbury Abbey in collaboration with Strode College will stage a conference to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, the revolution that changed the world. The conference will be held on Saturday 28th October at Glastonbury Town Hall, commencing 9am. Ticket includes a light lunch and access to the abbey. Please note that places are limited.
Somerset Rural Life Museum reopening with free ‘Family Fun Day’
Somerset Rural Life Museum which has been closed for the past 3 years for redevelopment is to reopen on Saturday June 3rd 2017 with a free family fun day. Visitors will also be able to enjoy the Museum’s first temporary exhibition, ‘Farm’, a collection of paintings, drawings and the voices of Somerset farmers by artist Kate Lynch. Read More
Glastonbury Abbey Medieval Garden Project
A medieval kitchen garden in the style once seen hundreds of years ago at Glastonbury Abbey is to be recreated. The garden will be created from an area which is currently overgrown and will be next to the current herb garden on the edge of the orchard. People are wanted to help with the initiative which aims to create a garden similar to that which existed at the abbey.
